Embroidery, weaving,
knitting and sewing are all ancient
arts, still popular with all ages
(cross-stitch and knitting especially
when a baby's on the way!). However,
some of the older, more complex techniques
are perhaps falling into disuse: young
girls don't sew their own trousseaus
anymore!
Courses & Teachers Cross-stitch and tapestry
Cross-stitch is one of the most popular
(and easiest) forms of embroidery,
ideal for decorating cushions, towels,
sheets, the baby's bibs
Tapestry stitch (wool or cotton) is
even quicker and normally used with
printed canvas.

Crochet and Découpage
Less cumbersome for travellers than
those dangeous knitting needles! Your
crochet hook and wool or cotton fit
easily into your bag or pocket.
Who hasn't heard of découpage?
Have a go at personalising those old
bits of furniture or bric-a-brac
