Over the Twelve Days of Christmas
(25/12-06/01) you'll find many a nativity
scene in the churches, public squares and
private homes. Virtually everywhere! In
fact, the nativity scene is a far more rooted
tradition than the Christmas Tree or Santa

Watch out for people collecting
moss and stones; the shops are full of figurines

Some towns have become famous for their
exhibitions, such as the nativity scenes
in Tarquinia, Montalto di Castro, Montafiascone,
Sutri, Vetralla and Viterbo. Not to mention
the real-life scenes staged in many towns,
including Cellere, Tuscania and Veiano.
