There are three main rivers
in the Maremma Laziale: the River Fiora,
the River Marta and the River Mignon, with
their many tributaries and, in the case
of the Marta, Lake Bolsena, what appears
to be an arid flat land surrounded by mountains
is, in fact, surprisingly rich in valleys
and waterfalls, wildlife and spectacular
views. Proving this there are plenty of
nature reserves and sites of European
Scientific Interest all within easy reach.
