St. Anthony Abate
Benediction of the animals. The locals bring their pets and farm animals to church for a blessing!

Kite fair
Organised at the same time as the Festival of Green Asparagus. Fun and games for the kids, exhibitions and the chance to make and fly your own kite.

Goods, fashion and animals along the old high street.

Corpus Domini
Procession on foot under the stars between Canino and Ischia di Castro, ending at dawn by the Crucifix near the ancient town of Castro.
(Thursday following the first Sunday after Pentecost)

Archaeology Festival
Conferences, guided visits and lunch under the trees at Castellardo, followed by theatre, dance and other cultural activities.

Food and wine, street entertainers, artists, clowns and puppets for the kids, music and local crafts. In the old centre, especially the alleyways in the area called "Le Buche". Afternoon til late.

Beer, food and live music in the Pineta park at the entrance to town.

Along the old high street. Perfect if you need to buy a few souvenirs for those at home.

Feast day of St. Clement
One of the patron saints of Canino. Music, entertainment and fun in the squares.

National Maremmano Horse Fair
Three days of great skill. Loads of stands with all things "horse". Typical local produce (oil, pizza, salami, cheese, honey...). The perfect chance to see the very best of this rare breed. Breeders from all over Italy. Form and behaviour, butteri, rodeo skills...

Feast day of St. Andrew

Bread and Oil
Italy's national bread and oil festival, in the middle of the oil harvest. A chance to taste the special tangy extra-vergin olive oil of Canino.
(last weekend in November)

Olive festival
Every year during the week ending 8th December (a bank holiday in Italy), now into its 48th edition (2007) this is when the locals celebrate the olive harvest with stands offering you the chance to taste the extra-vergin olive oil of Canino, conferences, a procession in historic costume, guided visits to the oil mills and labs... and culminating in an impressive fireworks display.
